Work description
You conduct assessment, examination, medical care and treatment for the unit's patients and interact with other care units. Coordinate compulsory care according to the law for unit’s patients. Work with the organization’s development focusing on medical quality control and participate in the supervision of doctors during specialization, internship and students.
The activities also include participating in the clinic's duties (on-call) and contributing to the clinic's doctor team.

Höglandet – the main unit is located in Eksjö, with outpatient clinics in Eksjö, Tranås, Vetlanda, Nässjö; as well as a child&adolescent outpatient clinic in Nässjö. In Eksjö there are two inpatient units dedicated to general psychiatry (each one with room for 15 patients), consultation unit and an emergency clinic (open every day, 8-16 o’clock). Approx. 37 000 visits, including 5500 in child&adolescent psychiatry, 660 admissions, care average duration 15 days. Employees: approx. 190, including 20 in child&adolescent psychiatry. Adult psychiatry: 5 doctors during specialization, 12 specialists, 55 nurses, 45 caregivers, 9 psychologists, 5 welfare officers, 5 occupational therapists, 18 administrators.

Jönköping – adult psychiatry. The clinic takes care of all psychiatry specialties. General psychiatry, 4 outpatient care teams, 2 general psychiatry wards with a consultation unit, a psychosis ward with an outpatient care team and a team dedicated to new patients, an addiction ward with an outpatient clinic, psychiatric intensive care, a forensic psychiatry ward with an outpatient clinic, an emergency outpatient clinic (open 24/7). Altogether there is room for 92 patients. There is also a team taking care of neuropsychiatric disorders and a rehabilitation unit. Approx. 56 000 visits, 2900 admissions, care duration 4,5-78 days. Employees: 398; 9 doctors during specialization, 12 specialists. Personnel works in teams and every team includes nurses, caregivers and occupational therapists.

Jönköping – child&adolescent psychiatry. An outpatient clinic with two specialized teams, taking care of mental disorders and mental diseases respectively, an inpatient ward with room for 4 patients, an anorexia unit, an emergency outpatient clinic. Approx. 10 000 visits, 125 admissions. Employees: 50-55: 3-5 specialists, 3 doctors during specialization, 13 nurses, 10 caregivers, 9 psychologists, 4 welfare officers, an occupational therapist, a pedagogue, 8 administrators.

Värnamo – the clinic is located in the Värnamo hospital and includes adult and child&adolescent psychiatry. Adult psychiatry includes a ward (with room for 18 patients), an outpatient clinic for emergencies and addictions, a clinic for examinations and therapy, a psychosis outpatient clinic with daycare and a branch in Gislaved. The outpatient clinic is open on weekdays, 8-16 o’clock. Approx. 25 000 visits, including 4500 of child&adolescent, 450 admissions, average care duration 13 days. Work description
Your daily work will include patient-centered care with both diagnosing and treating patients. Additional work assignment is tutoring students and interns. Clinical research can also be part of the position. We have a close collaboration with the Sahlgrenska Academy.

Our psychiatry department within Sahlgrenska University Hospital have both outpatient and inpatient care with different facilities throughout Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Department of Psychiatry for Affective Disorders gives care and treatment including following diagnosis areas: mood disorders as depressions- and bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorder, eating disorders as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome and neurodevelopmental disorders as ADHD and autism.
